Mayhem in Miscarriage… Rainbow Baby Blessings

I wrote this poem shortly after my miscarriage for one of my dear friend’s baby showers. This soon to be mama and daddy have walked through years of several miscarriages, but we are now rejoicing with them that they have a perfect little rainbow baby making her way into the world any day now! What a beautiful blessing.
             Rainbow Girl

Your mommy and daddy have waited so long

For you sweet Ella Jane to finally come along

Your loved ones have been praying for you for so many years

Amidst the hardships, heartache and flowing of tears

There were so many rough times and hard days

But then God decided the rainbow would be on its way

Oh sweet rainbow you were worth all of the waiting

God knew the perfect time for you who He was creating

You have made your way filling multiple hearts

The knowledge of you piecing back together broken parts

Our dear little Ella you have countless awaiting your debut

Again you’ll fill even more hearts when everyone gets their first view

You will be dearly loved by people near and far

And will know very quickly how special you are

Such beautiful examples from whom you get to learn

Following God is where your parents' hearts yearn

Your daddy will teach you boldness and humor

And tell all the boys “you definitely can’t date her”

From your mama you will learn compassion and grace

And learn to be strong in the hardships you face

You have incredible parents whose storms have made them stronger

But praise God they don’t have to wait for their rainbow any longer

For here you have come little miss Ella Jane

The bright colored promise that reminds us of the sunshine amidst the rain
